We absolutely love it at chalet aberot!

Review
It is hard to believe that we first met and stayed with Clare 24 years ago (her adorable daughter was only 5 and her Olympic gold winning son was just 3 1/2 years old)! We have had the privilege to visit Wengen and stay exclusively with Clare every few years since then. While a lot in the area has changed in a quarter century, what remains constant is Clare’s infectious personality and amazing hospitality and accommodations. We always feel like we are being welcomed back home when we visit and are sad to leave regardless of how long we are able to stay. No matter what fun and exciting adventure we undertake during the day, our favorite part of the day is returning back to the flat, relaxing on the balcony, and watching the sunset. The location of the chalet and the views from the balcony are unbeatable! We absolutely love it at Chalet Aberot and cannot wait to return again soon!

Clare, you were such a lovely hostess and the space was amazing. The views of course can’t be beat but additionally, we loved making the flat our little home for a few days. It had everyting we needed to be comfortable and functional. We had such an amazing time in the Swiss Alps and staying at Clare’s place made it all the better. She was extremely proactive in her communication, so friendly when we arrived and would check in with us throughout the stay. The flat had the most amazing view from the balcony, looking out over the Jungfrau, valley and up at the mountains. It was squeaky clean and had all the things we needed to have a comfortable stay. Fully equipped kitchen, great coffee, laundry, and Clare even put a bottle of bubbly in the fridge for our arrival. Would absolutely stay there again.

10! ⭐️ We usually stay in hotels but wanted a place that felt more cozy like a home because we travel A LOT! This place was awesome. The shower and kitchen are clean and updated, the outdoor patio is lovely with an outstanding view, and the host was a great communicator! Details: lots of nice wooden hangers, extra soaps, shampoos, food items, full length mirror, detailed information manual, plenty of storage for clothing, just stars ⭐️ all the way! We will be back ❤️

We spent 4 nights in the Chalet Aberot and enjoyed every second. The appartment is perfectly located 3 minutes of the center of the village. My husband and I had a wonderful 4 days in Clare’s perfect, comfy chalet condo in Wengen. Clare met us with a big smile and a cold drink when we arrived at the condo...just a short walk from the train station. We knew the views were rated excellent by everyone but even so we were not prepared for the stunning site from the balcony! Could not get enough of those mountains and the valley below. We easily walked from this perfect location into town or to the train station. The hiking in this area is amazing...so many great trails nearby. The condo had everything we needed including a washing machine...a real luxury after staying in hotels! Highly recommend staying here!

Clare was the most accommodating host I’ve had using either VRBO or AirBnb. The view of the balcony captured all of Lauterbrunnen and the opposing mountainside to Wengen. I, along with my friends, favorite thing to do was simply drink wine on the balcony in awe of the beautiful world around us.

My adult son and I stayed at Chalet Aberot in August and it was a great place to stay. The views from the flat were spectacular! The flat is super clean and modern. The kitchen had everything necessary including multiple coffee making devices which included my favorite, a Nespresso machine. The bed was very comfortable. The airlines had lost my luggage for 3.5 days but because the flat had everything I needed from toiletries to a washing/dryer machine, my lost luggage was not a problem. Clare was a wonderful, helpful, and attentive hostess who loaned me warm clothing for my hike in Jungfrau which I didn't need because the sun was out and no wind on the day we hiked "The Top of Europe". She also had two sets of hiking poles which were perfect for me and my 6'3" tall son. We did everything including hiking, biking, paddleboarding and paragliding (which I highly recommend, not scary or difficult at all and the thermals are perfect for a wonderful glide, use Airtime Paragliding). At night, we watched movies from a great selection of Clare's DVDs. Easy/quick train access to Murren, Lauterbrunnen, Gimmelwald, Interlaken, Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch. I would choose a stay in Wengen over the other close towns because it is less crowded and receives more daily clear sky and sun due to the location amid the mountains. Also has a local Coop for groceries. Did I mention the cows and goats with their sweet Swiss bells ringing a quintessential Swiss chorus below the chalet each morning?

Wow, what a great experience.

“Wow, what a great experience. Where to start? 1. The host. Warm, hospitable, caring and very easy to communicate with. She made us feel at home right away and made sure we were OK and taken care of throughout our several days in the flat. She even invited us to her own flat a floor up for coffee upon us leaving to Wengen. Clare gets 10/10. 2. The views. The pictures don't do it justice. Epic views overlooking the Lauterbrunnen valley plus a spacious yet private balcony, ideal to enjoy late dinners and linger around with a cup of tea just admiring the views. 3. The flat. Stylish, comfortable, spacious, well equipped. The images don't do it justice, either. Way nicer than we thought. We felt at home right away, in fact it was hard to leave =) 4. Wengen. This was our first trip to Switzerland and after much research we chose this town to spend the first half of our trip. We went hiking every day as the weather was just perfect and the trails ideal to spend hours out walking admiring the mountains and breathing the fresh air. Also there's a Coop just a few minutes away from the flat and restaurants and cafes as well. Great little town, small and it even has a community swimming pool for those hot Summer days. I'd recommend her place, the host, this town and the views any day. We hope to come back soon! ”

We stayed at Clare's chalet for 12 nights. We loved the chalet and of course the wonderful view. The chalet was spacious, extremely clean and well kept. The kitchen had everything that we needed, the bathroom had plenty of room and the bedroom had a lot of hanging area and draws. Our stay was terrific.

The flat is very nice. It is a short walk from the train station, so there is easy access to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, etc. But, the flat is also in a quiet area of Wengen. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and well stocked with supplies. The rest of the flat is very comfortable (including the bed). There are three doors from the main room to the terrace, so the main room is filled with light and has nice views. That said, you rent this flat for the view from the terrace - which is spectacular. From the terrace, you have great views of the mountains, and you can hear cow bells and goats. You also hear the cog train going by. At first the train noise is a little annoying. But after a while, that noise adds to the charm of the flat. Clare, the owner and property manager, was very easy to work with – both before and during the stay. She provided a lot of pre-arrival information. She made check-in and check-out seamless. And she made a point to personally meet you and answer any questions you might have while you were staying there (unlike many other property managers). Overall, our stay was terrific.

We have stayed with Clare on numerous occasions, though this is our first stay at her new chalet. While the location has changed, the view is still fantastic and Clare is still as warm, welcoming, and helpful as ever. She knows how to be available and helpful (providing recommendations for hikes, restaurants, etc.) without being intrusive. You can tell that she genuinely wants her guests to have the best holiday possible. The holiday flat is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need, including a nice kitchen and a washer and dryer, which come in extremely handy. However, our favorite part of staying at Chalet Aberot is coming back to the flat after a day of hiking and relaxing by sitting out on the balcony and watching the sun go down. We can’t wait to return to Wengen and Chalet Aberot!

Marvelous chalet apartment in wengen

Coincidentally found this chalet apartment through the internet while looking for a place to stay for our skiing holiday week in the Swiss alps. Having spent years of summer holidays down in the valley of Lauterbrunnen, we decided look for an apartment nearby. The email contact with Clare, owner and hostess, felt warm and positive right from the start. This continued throughout our stay, and whenever we needed anything, we just had to ring her doorbel, as she lived in the same building, which was very convenient. She allowed us all the privacy we needed, and repeatedly invited us for a drink. Upon our arrival we were positively surprised about the comfort of the well equipped apartment, nothing we could think of that would have made our stay more comfortable. All above, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of beautiful Wengen & railway station and probably the most beautiful view from the balcony, made it hard to leave again after one week. Thanks again Clare, for making our winter holiday one of the best ever.

We just spent two weeks in this lovely flat in the lovely village of Wengen, and there aren't enough superlatives in our vocabulary to describe our experience. We booked because of the lovely photos on the website, but the reality far exceeds the photos. Our jaws literally dropped when we walked in. And Clare, as everyone has noted, is an absolute gem. She lives in the chalet herself but allows you all the privacy you want or need, and yet she is right there when you need assistance or advice. We feel we're among the luckiest people in the world to have found Chalet Aberot.

Unit located about 5 minutes from town center with hill which gets you warmed up for hiking beautiful surroundings. We were 3 people, with our 16 year-old son, and the apartment was slightly smaller than most that we have rented in the past; but we never felt crowded and there was plenty of room for everyone. Quite importantly: the sofa bed is very comfortable. Everything is new and Clare does a good job of providing for your needs. To me, Wengen might just be the most beautiful location on the planet; and Chalet Aberot is one of the most beautiful locations in Wengen!

Where to start?

... I suppose the view from the balcony, which is just superb. From first thing in the morning, with dawn breaking over the Jungfrau, till last thing at night when the Staubachfall waterfall floodlights down in Lauterbrunnen are turned on. An unbelievable spot. The bathroom is top notch, with unexpected extra touches thrown in (like facecloths and lotions, as well as towels and soaps) and the kitchen area is equally well kitted out and a pleasure to use, especially since there are such good quality foodstuffs in the local shops. The Nespresso coffee machine is also a life-saver, with pods available in the Coop just opposite the railway station! The building itself is not only pleasing to the eye but also full of interest for the curious, being of traditional wooden 'Swiss Chalet' design but newly built, with the most up-to-date top-spec systems. The owner, Clare, who occupies another floor, worked on the design with the architect from the beginning and is only too pleased to talk about it. She is also a mine of information on the area, having lived in Wengen most of her life. Don't misunderstand though, she is there for you only if asked and otherwise 'keeps her distance' and doesn't impose!

We have been coming to Wengen for many years and have stayed at numerous vacation rentals. This apartment is superb both for the view and the accommodations. Clare is a gracious host and goes out of her way to make sure that you are comfortable. We love the location and the view is awesome...like Wengen itself!

A beautiful new chalet.

Clare's chalet is beautifully presented with wonderful views from the balcony over the mountains. It was very warm and welcoming and with all the facilities you would need along with other thoughtful touches. It is close to restaurants, the Cable Car and Railway Station. Clare is a very good host and would help with any information you may need. I would recommend a visit!

A perfect getaway

This apartment is amazing. Newly built, it has everything you need for a perfect self-catering holiday. It is only a few minutes away from the train station and from the center of town and it has an idyllic view of the valley below from its own balcony. Clare, the owner, is such an incredible host and did everything she could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We felt at home immediately, and even got to meet some of her friends in the local pub 🙂 Whether you go in the winter for winter sports, or in the summer for hiking and chilling, the location couldn't be better. Being close to the train station in Wengen, it is easy to get to from Lauterbrunnen, and then easy to navigate up to the Kleine Sheidegg and of course the Jungfraujoch. All in all, a lovely apartment, an amazing host and a great stay. Enjoy 🙂

It is first class in every respect!

What a privilege to be the first to rent this Fabulous Holiday Flat! It is 1st class in every respect. What an absolutely beautiful chalet. And of course the view is eye-popping-ly gorgeous! Having us over for your party was an unexpected pleasure. We truly enjoyed meeting your wonderful friends and neighbors. The bed was comfy, the kitchen fully equipped, and the washer/dryer extremely useful. Wengen is a remarkable gem of a village, by far our favorite place in Switzerland. I’ve run out of superlatives to describe our phenomenal 5 days here! Thank you for your great hospitality and warm reception. We hope to return in the near future, possibly in the winter to ski these beautiful Alps!
